What is a plant based diet?
A plant based diet is a health conscious lifestyle based on plants. Food from the earth such as fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains. Eating a plant based diet means you don't consume any animal products. No milk, yogurt, cheese or eggs, and no chicken, fish, cow or any other animal.
Why a plant based diet?
A lot of people choose a plant based lifestyle due to the amazing health benefits. Plants are high in vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and nutrients including fibre, protein, carbohydrates and fat which is everything we need to thrive.
Studies show that eating a plant based diet can lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, obesity, heart disease and inflammation, just to name a few.
Eliminating dairy alone can do wonders for our skin as it is high in sugar, hormones, creates inflammation and contains a lot of antibiotics and other chemicals that the cows have been ingesting to prevent infection. This means when we consume dairy products we also ingest all of these things which make us break out or we gain other skin and health problems.
A lot of the time when consuming meats we don't realise we also consuming a tone of nasty chemicals and growth hormones, These growth hormones when ingested trigger our growth hormones and we end up gaining weight, also When eliminating dairy from our diets we see a great drop in our weight as dairy is baby cows growth fluid. Cows milk is a growth fluid just like human breast milk is a growth fluid, Cows milk is produced to turn a 60 pound calf into a 400 pound calf as rapidly as possible. So ask yourself what is it doing to you.
The less animal products we purchase and consume, the less the dairy and meat industry have to produce which means the less they have to raise to kill or raise to take their milk or their eggs.
